This easy, multi use trail starts at the visitors centre and follows the virgin river towards the canyon junction for 3.5mi / 5.6km. If you prefer, you can turn this into a day trip instead of an overnight and continue staying in morro bay.

Visiting sequoia national park is a must if you’re in california! The airport is north of town and the hwy passes through the west side of town (if you stay on interstate 5), so it's close to 3 ¾ hrs to get to yosemite valley. That also is the best location for day 3 on our itinerary.
